Town “On Song”

This was Coleshill’s best display of the season, with new signing Timothy Clarke, signed from Coleshill Colts, getting through a lot of midfield work and having a fine game. They started like an express train. From a John Allen cross, Phil Dunn put Town ahead after only 59 seconds. Eddie Hanlon netted from close range in the eighth minute and soon after, Dunn crashed a shot against the post as Bournville were still reeling from the opening blitz. Allen drifted into space after 20 minutes and Town were 3-0 up, and though Bournville started to come more into the game just before the interval, their only dangerous forward was Williams, had little support, and Town kept command. Five minutes after the resumption, Hanlon hit Coleshill’s fourth, beating two defenders and squeezing the ball home from the acutest angle. Allen completed the “nap hand”, smashing the ball into the roof of the net from close in.
