CASTLE BROMWICH NEWS WROTE
Powerful Police Slam Coleshill

Coleshill were brought back to earth in no uncertain manner at Tally Ho on Saturday. Following their recent revival the Pack Meadow camp found to their cost that the difference between the top and bottom of the Midland Combination First Division is as great as ever. Police, clear favourites to take the championship, played with an attacking purpose that Coleshill, weakened by the absence of defender Garnell and striker Allcock, both injured, could not match. Within two minutes Police had the ball in the net, but the goal was disallowed for a foul on keeper King, but in the sixth minute a cross from Tinkler was brilliantly headed home by Andrews. Ten minutes later the Police jumped further ahead, when Ellis paved the perfect opening for Tinkler to give King no chance with a cracking shot. King was forced into a string of saves as Police dominated, with Tinkler creating havoc in the visitors rearguard but near the interval, Coleshill did have a chance to score when a Nabbs free-kick was headed into the path of Malcolm Phelps, but he shot over from six yards out. King again came to Coleshill's rescue at the start of the second half, diving at the feet of Andrews, who in the 73rd minute took advantage of a penalty award to put Police 3-0 ahead. Police never eased up and Andrews capped a fine display with two more goals. This Saturday Coleshill Town meet fellow strugglers Cadbury Heath at Pack Meadow.
