CASTLE BROMWICH NEWS WROTE
There was little cheer on the local soccer front this week with Coleshill Town and Chelmsley Town both losing. Coleshill went down 2-0 at home to Chipping Norton.

Coleshill Tumble
Coleshill missed the chance of moving into the top half of the Midland Combination First Division, going down to a Chipping Norton side, who were reduced to 10 men for all of the second half. In a bright start Coleshill looked set to gain the initiative and from a free lick Ketterick forced a great save from visiting keeper Taylor. Other scoring chances came Coleshill’s way, but with the McRae brothers to the fore Norton settled down and swept in a 23rd minute lead through Jarvis. From that moment Norton exerted heavy pressure and from a corner taken by Jarvis the ball was handled by Starkey, allowing Way to put the visitors further in front from the penalty spot. Three minutes before the interval Norton had B.McRae sent off after an incident with Coleshill’s Colin (this must be Chris) Davies. Despite being reduced in numbers Norton controlled most of the second half, looking far more composed than a Coleshill side that failed to get to grips with the proceedings.

KITE SET TO MAKE CHANGES
Reflecting on his sides defeat at home to Chipping Norton Coleshill manager David Kite said, “Certainly Norton looked a greatly improved side from from when we met them last October, but we again disappointed at home. While Steve Raybould did well in goal and Harry Burrows competed well in the heart of the defence, there were too many mistakes made in other departments.” Not surprisingly manager Kite is considering making chances for the away game at Studley this Saturday. He still hopes to sign Mick Burrows from Coventry Colliery and young Andrew Canning is also included in the 15 strong squad: Raybould, McGreevy, Casey, Davies, Burrows H, Canning, Ketterick, Allen, Starkey, Dawkins, Montague, Burrows M, Nardiello, Conway, Francis.
