CASTLE BROMWICH NEWS WROTE
Icy conditions made balance and control difficult and frequent stoppages brought frustration as both teams stuggled to keep their feet. A player from each side was "booked" for dissent and Coleshill's Johnny Allen was "sent-off" in the second half. Nevertheless enough scoring chnaces were created by Coleshill to have won the game easily. The only two openings that fell to Sportsco were put away by Dewis. He nipped in for the first after 38 minutes, when three defenders had failed to clear in the six yard box. Paul Montague previously missed the best chance of the first half, shooting high and wide from close range, after being put clean through by Dawkins. The second half was only a minute old when Dewis clinched his "brace". A hesitant Coleshill rearguard was slow in coming out and Jarvis was allowed to run 40 yards unchallenged, before slipping the ball to the unmarked Dewis, who gave Wright no chance in the home goal. A further effort was immediately wasted by Paul Montague when he headed wide with all the time in the world to find the net. The 65th minute brought on substitute Allen for Nigel Montague and Coleshill reverted to a 3-3-4 formation. This signaled pressure and Davis in the Sportsco goal had to pull out all the stops to keep his side in front. Coleshill continued to lack the final accurate touch in the danger area. Conway hit the crossbar from five yards out and two balls were allowed to go across the visitors goalmouth, without a Coleshill player in sight. At this stage Sportsco were non-existent in attack and Coleshill's keeper, Wrigh, became a mere spectator, but it was Sportsco who hung on to take the points.
