Harrison Sanders reports as the Royals are beaten at home on New Year’s Day!

Following Sutton’s derby day delight away to Boldmere, the Royals would turn their attention back to the Domino’s Arena.
Today they were to play an inform Coleshill Town, a side who beat struggling Lye Town 6-0.
Cameron Stuart decided to remain with the same squad that beat Boldmere St Michaels 4-1 on Boxing Day

10th Min: The Royals first attempt came during the 10th Minute. The ball was picked up by Cameron Collins on the left-hand-side. He took the ball around his man before he delivered a great ball into the box for Owen Parry. His flicked header went wide of the post, not causing any trouble for Tyrese Warmington

30th Min: The game was very even, having a real derby like feel to the game. The visitors were looking the more promising, striking the woodwork and forcing Wren into some saves before Half time.

Nothing to separate the two teams so far, with Coleshill looking the livelier with a flurry of efforts before the break.

46th Min: Tomkinson On

48th Min: The visitors took the lead early into the second half with the former Royals combining to create the goal. Sam Tye plucked a ball out of the air in the Sutton area before rolling it to Ben Usher-Shipway. He curled a ball into the box which was headed into the far corner of the net by Taylor Carter-Byrne.

60th Min: Edmunds On

65th Min: The Royals were trying to find a way back into the game. They were having lots of the ball but struggling to create any real chance that would lead to a goal.

70th Min: The visitors double their advantage with 20 Minutes left to play. Former Royal Skeano found Harry Craven at the back-post, who comfortably slotted the ball into an open net. Sutton Coldfield Town 0-2 Coleshill.

73rd Min: Gibson On

73rd Min: Hurley On

76th Min: The Royals had a great chance to halve the deficit after Ryan Edmunds had a volley from distance which was saved low down to his left by Tyrese Warmington
90th Min: After a lot of pressure from the Royals, they finally got their goal. Parry took a shot inside the box deflecting off Reece Gibson’s back for his first goal since his loan spell away at Sutton United. 2-1

FT Sutton Coldfield Town 1-2 Coleshill

The Gibson goal was unfortunately too late, being nothing more than a consolation goal.

Not the best performance from the Royals, but we have the opportunity to turn it around with an away trip to Coventry Sphinx on Saturday.
